    What is the Seestar App?

    The Seestar App is your all-in-one companion for connecting with your Seestar smart astronomical telescope and exploring the universe. Whether you’re new to smart telescopes or looking to master your device, this guide will walk you through its core features, main sections, and how to start your first observation.

    With the app, you can:

    • Intelligently control the telescope and auto-align with celestial targets
    • Capture the Sun and landscapes during the day, and shoot the Moon and deep-sky objects at night
    • Explore the star map, identify stars, and learn astronomy basics
    • Browse stunning astrophotos from users around the world and share your own capture

    What Are the Main Sections of the App?

    Once you open the Seestar App, you’ll find five main tabs: Home, SkyAtlas, Community, Nearby, and Me. Let’s break down each one.

    Home Tab

    The Home tab is your main dashboard for controlling your telescope. Here you can:

    • Check real-time weather, cloud cover, sunrise/sunset, and moon phases
    • View your device battery level
    • Manage your telescope name and switch between devices
    • Access shooting modes: Stargazing, Solar System, and Scenery
    • Open your photo gallery, shooting plans, and post-processing tools
    • Browse tutorials and upcoming celestial events

    SkyAtlas Tab

    The SkyAtlas tab is your interactive star map for exploring the night sky.

    • Tap to search celestial targets and learn basic information
    • Use one-tap GOTO alignment to lock onto selected objects
    • Switch between AZ (Alt-Az) and EQ (Equatorial) coordinate modes
    • Use Framing mode to adjust zoom and rotation — perfect for capturing large deep-sky objects

    Community Tab

    • Tap photos to view images taken by other users nearby
    • Note: Location access is required to use this feature

    Me Tab

    The Me tab is your personal settings and device management center.

    How to Start Your First Shoot

    Getting started with your Seestar is easy with these 3 simple steps:

    1. Power on the device and connect to Seestar: Follow the in-app Wi-Fi connection guide to pair your telescope with the app.

    2. Select a shooting mode and target: Choose from Stargazing, Solar System, or Scenery mode, then pick your target (e.g., the Moon in Solar System mode).

    3. Tap GoTo and capture: The telescope will automatically align with your target. Once aligned, it will start capturing images that you can save directly to your phone.

    Recommended First Targets

    Deep Sky Objects

    Check the "Best Tonight" list in the star map for easy-to-capture targets.

    Sun or Moon

    Simple, quick to photograph, and great for beginners.

    Important Reminder

    Always use the solar filter when shooting the Sun!
