Recommended setups for EQ Mode:

  • For S30 Pro: We recommend the TH10 Fluid Tripod Head + TC20 Carbon Fiber Tripod combo for the best EQ Mode experience.
  • For S50 Pro: A tripod is already included, so we recommend purchasing the TH10 Fluid Tripod Head separately for EQ Mode.

For existing TH10 owners: When pairing the TH10 with Seestar S50 Pro in EQ mode, we recommend purchasing the new Seestar TH10 3/8" Screw Quick-Release Plate for improved imaging stability.

Perfectly designed for use with the Seestar smart telescope in equatorial mode.

Connection Method

When using Seestar S50’s TC20 tripod with the TH10 tripod head, be noted that the tripod head might hit the tripod leg at some certain angles. Thus, this combo is not compatible with regions located below 15° latitude.
Note: TC20 is the tripod that comes with the Seestar S50.

1. After unfolding the tripod, adjust each leg to the desired length and securely lock them in place. Then, place the tripod body on a flat, stable surface. Align one leg roughly towards the north (in the Northern Hemisphere). Carefully observe the spirit level and adjust the leg height to ensure the bubble is centered within the marked circular indicator. At this point, the tripod is properly set up.

2. First, install TH10 by screwing the 1/4″ to 3/8″ threaded screw adapter into the Seestar, subsequently, use a coin wrench to tighten the screws of the adapter.

3. Attach the quick release plate, making sure it fits securely with the Seestar. (See attached pictures for reference). Then, tighten the screws on the quick release plate to ensure proper polar alignment during the setup process.

4. Tighten the horizontal adjustment knob at the bottom of the TH10 and attach the TH10 to the tripod. Then, loosen the knob and keep the dovetail groove pointing North, which should align with the north-facing support leg. Finally, tighten the knob.

5. Install the Seestar device onto the TH10, aligning it with the dovetail groove. Tighten the knob firmly to ensure the equipment is secure. Once confirmed, the installation is complete.

Seestar TH10 hydraulic tripod head enables the Seestar S50 and S30 to operate in equatorial (EQ) mode. Note: When using the Seestar S50 in equatorial (EQ) mode with the TH10 tripod head and the TC20 tripod (included with the Seestar S50), please note that the equipment may collide with the tripod legs at certain angles. Therefore, this setup is not recommended for use in regions below 15° latitude.

Worked flawlessly! My first image with the Seestar S30 Pro in EQ mode was amazing. I'm packing the whole setup in my carry on for all of my next trips.

I went to adjust the attitude for 39 degrees and the swivel was a little tight. I did get it set. So Im okay there.
I connected the equatorial wedge to the Seestar tripod with the 3/8 screw on the tripod.
When I tried to connect the wedge to the Seestar S50 Pro, the connection screw was 1/4 and the Seestar takes a 3/8 screw. So I was unable to connect the wedge to the Seestar.
Other than the screw, the wedge looks like it is solid and well built. I am looking forward to using it in the future.
By the way, somehow the emails come addressed to Kevin. My name is Joe Miller.

Thanks and. I really love the Seestar S50 Pro

Pairs well with the Seestar S50 Pro. Have used it multiple times already and had some great results.

The only thing it’s missing is the ability to make micro adjustments to easily get the alignment perfect every time.

We’ll built tilting head tripod. Please offer an alternative fine adjustable model for eq Astro photography.

So far I’m just getting a grasp of the telescope. I’ve only used the AZ setting or mount tonight I’ll be trying the EQ mount for the first time. But so far everything is good. 1 thing I will probably change will be to get a taller telescope.

I like it

The Tripod Head works great with my S30 in EQ mode. Easy to adjust, smooth and stable. The only issue is that the pan adjustment lock knob interferes with the tripod mount so one must take care in affixing the head to the tripod.

Could have more granular control.

a little hard to use

The TH10 made deep sky imaging much better result wise. Easy setup and I am looking to buy a second one.

Does not work well close to the equator, better for higher latitudes

I’ve been using this product to use EQ mode on my s50 pro and I love it, feels like quality does what it’s supposed to do and holds tight, I really like this product a lot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So far so good. A little pain to have to put a different plate and install the insert when going to EQ MODE

It's great!!

Works great. Have one for my S 50 as well as the new one for my S50 Pro. It is important to remember that the knob to adjust along the horizontal axis is SPRING LOADED. You pull the knob out to allow it to turn and clear the rest of the mount.

Works perfect, but when installed, you are unable to use the detachable handle that came with the Seestar - the upper tightening nut of the head gets in the way of that handle being used.

Easy setup, very smooth movement, easy to adjust.

D
David McHaffey

It works okay, but as with other choices I have tried, the dovetail plate tends to loosen. I worry about the seestar falling off if I am not vigilant.

Super fun and enthused! One of my favorite things about the S30 is its portability. It’s small and lightweight enough to take almost anywhere, yet it delivers impressive results for its size. The app is straightforward, and being able to find, track, capture, and stack images automatically makes the whole experience much more enjoyable.

Quality is extremely good. A bit small but it works great.

Tripod and mount are easy to set up and use. Took a little while to understand the steps to adjust the mount for equatorial mode but I eventually figured it out.
