How to Use SkyAtlas Sync on Seestar

Table of Contents

This tutorial explains how to use the SkyAtlas Sync function to locate celestial objects with greater accuracy.

    About SkyAtlas Sync

Seestar comes with a built-in celestial coordinate system. Precise GoTo positioning only works when the device’s internal coordinates match real sky coordinates. The SkyAtlas Sync function calibrates positions to align these two coordinate systems.

Your Seestar will run an automatic Sync once it finishes a GoTo movement and the target celestial body is perfectly centered on the screen.

How to Enable Manual SkyAtlas Sync

    1. Connect your mobile phone to Seestar.

Connect mobile device to Seestar telescope via Wi-Fi

    1. Open Seestar Settings and go to Advanced Features, then toggle on SkyAtlas Sync.

Turn on SkyAtlas Sync switch inside Seestar Advanced Features page

After enabling this feature, a "Sync" button will appear at the bottom of the SkyAtlas page if a target celestial object falls within your Target FOV. The button will disappear if you turn off the toggle.

    Function Usage Tip

Properly applying Sync recalibrates Seestar’s internal coordinates to match real-world sky positions. This feature is highly useful if you cannot locate the Moon accurately. For detailed operations, check our tutorial: Find the Moon Accurately.
