Seestar POLSKA: Bringing Astronomy Enthusiasts Together Under the Stars

Astronomy is about more than observing distant galaxies and nebulae. It's about the people who share our curiosity, exchange knowledge, and inspire one another to look up at the night sky.
That spirit lives in Poland, where Seestar POLSKA, founded and led by Patrycja Anna Zawadowicz, has grown to more than 3,340 members as of October 2026. Through deep-sky observing sessions, astrophotography workshops, image-processing discussions, educational resources, competitions, and in-person meetups, it brings together Seestar users of all experience levels.
For Patrycja, the goal has always been to make astrophotography more accessible. Seestar POLSKA provides beginners with a place to ask questions, get help with their equipment, learn new techniques, and share their progress.
The community has grown thanks to the involvement of its moderators and active members, who contribute their knowledge, experience, and time. Together, they help create an environment where people can learn from one another, exchange practical advice, and develop their astrophotography skills.
Two recent milestones highlight how this community continues to grow, both beneath dark skies and within the wider local community.

A Weekend of Deep-Sky Exploration in the Bieszczady Mountains

From April 15–19, 2026, Seestar POLSKA hosted its second Seestarian Meetup in Wetlina, in Poland's Bieszczady Mountains. Set beneath exceptionally dark skies rated Bortle 1–2, participants came together for several days of observing, imaging, and knowledge sharing.
The program featured three nights of deep-sky observing and astrophotography, hands-on Seestar data-processing workshops, discussions about image-processing techniques, and a Seestar astrophotography knowledge contest.
The meetup was made possible through Patrycja's organisational efforts and the support of the community moderators, including Robert, who contributed technical knowledge and practical assistance throughout the event.
Beyond capturing celestial objects, the meetup gave members the chance to compare results, exchange practical tips, and see how others approach image processing. For beginners, it was an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a welcoming environment; for more experienced users, it was a chance to share knowledge and help others grow.
These gatherings reflect the community's wider mission: helping people move from curiosity about the night sky to actively observing, photographing, and sharing the universe for themselves.
Bringing Astrophotography to the Local Community
On October 9, 2026, Patrycja brought her passion for the night sky to a wider audience with a solo astrophotography exhibition at MOKiS, the cultural centre in Bielawa, Poland.
The exhibition celebrated more than five years of her astrophotography journey, featuring images of stars, night landscapes, and deep-sky objects, including photographs captured with Seestar telescopes.

The event also caught the attention of local broadcaster Telewizja Sudecka, which visited the exhibition and interviewed Patrycja about her astrophotography journey and the Seestar POLSKA community. The resulting coverage highlighted Seestar smart telescopes and the community's activities, bringing their story to a wider regional audience.
For Patrycja, the exhibition was another opportunity to share not only her images, but also the enthusiasm for astronomy that has brought so many people together through Seestar POLSKA.

By bringing astrophotography into a local cultural space, the exhibition showed how a personal passion can reach beyond online groups and observing sessions, inspiring new audiences to discover the beauty of the universe.
More Than a Telescope: A Community Built Around the Night Sky
Behind the meetups, educational activities, and shared images is the ongoing work of a community that continues to grow.
As the founder and administrator, Patrycja coordinates the community's development, organises competitions and observing events, prepares educational materials, and initiates projects that bring Seestar users together.
She is supported by the community moderators, including Robert, who plays an important role in providing technical assistance, sharing his expertise, and helping members solve equipment-related problems. Together with active community members, they create an environment where users can learn, exchange experiences, and develop their astrophotography skills.
The community's growth, from 2,885 members on September 7 to more than 3,340 in October 2026, reflects the continued interest in connecting with fellow Seestar users in Poland.

For many enthusiasts, the experience doesn't end when an observing session is over. It continues through conversations about imaging techniques, the excitement of discovering a new celestial target, and the friendships formed around a shared curiosity about the cosmos.
At Seestar, we're delighted to see communities like Seestar POLSKA creating opportunities for people to learn, observe, and inspire one another. Their activities show how making astronomy more accessible can bring people together, turning individual discoveries into shared experiences.
Every image tells a story, and every community discovery can inspire someone new to look up.
We look forward to seeing what Seestar POLSKA captures next and to celebrating more stories from Seestar users around the world.
